Snow Monkey + Zenkoji Temple Tour

Since 1964, Jigokudani yaenkoen has been loved by many people all over the world. Jigokudani Yaenkoen is a unique and interesting place located in the valley of Yokoyu-River that flows from Shigakogen area of the northern part of Nagano-Prefecture.

It’s called Jigokudani (Hell’s Valley) because of the steep cliffs and steam coming off the springs. It’s also buried in snow almost one third of the year. But this place is a paradise for monkeys. It has become a popular place for watching monkeys bath in the natural hot springs!

Depart Hakuba and visit Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park and see the monkey’s bathe in the natural hot springs. Japanese lunch at Obuse, a small town that blends Japanese culture, arts, good food and sake. Also visit Zenkoji Temple which holds the first Buddhist statue ever brought to Japan.
